The Steam Locomotive does not work despite how nice it looks. I did not see corrosion in the battery compartment but I do not know enough about New Bright to try and repair.
Youtube has a video on repairing them but I do not have the time.
I know there are folks out there that really like the New Brite collection and will agree that the Toys R Us Box Car is a harder to find piece.
